Medical Surgical Nurse

Pride Health is hiring a Med-Surg Registered Nurse to support our client’s medical facility, which is based in Washington, District of Columbia. This permanent opportunity is a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a Medical/Surgical and Telemetry setting.
• Care for patients requiring:
• Pre/Post Neuro Surgery
• Peripheral Nerve Block Catheters
• Chest Tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac systems)
• Colostomy and Feeding Tube Care & Management
• Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management
• IV Therapy and Heparin Administration
• PCA (Patient-Controlled Analgesia)
• Surgical Drains and Wound Vac Management
• Portable Oxygen Tank Use
• Manage patients with Renal Failure and complex medical needs.
• Follow Isolation Precautions and infection control standards.
• Accurately document patient care in Cerner electronic health record system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Float as needed to units of equal or lower acuity.
• Work every other weekend as scheduled.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, nursing standards, and best practices.

Qualifications:

DC RN License

BLS

Minimum 2 years of experience in:

• Medical/Surgical (MS)
• Telemetry (Tele)
• Accessing ports
• Pre/Post Neuro Surgery
• Peripheral Nerve Block Catheters
• Chest Tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
• Colostomy Care
• Feeding Tube Care & Management
• Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management
• Renal Failure
• IV Therapy
• Heparin
• PCA (Patient-Controlled Analgesia)
• Surgical Drains
• Portable Oxygen Tank
• Isolation Precautions
• Wound Care/Wound Vac

Pay Range: $70.00 per hour (Negotiable)

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
