Position Description

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a part-time position in a homeless shelter setting located in East Harlem, New York. The role is part of the Support and Connection Center, providing critical services to adults with mental illnesses and substance use histories.

About the Opportunity:

  • Onsite

  • Shift: Part-time, Wednesday nights

  • Schedule: One shift per week

  • Hours: 8pm-8am

  • Setting: Homeless Shelters

Responsibilities:

  • Health interviews and medical history documentation

  • Medication administration and monitoring

  • Working independently and coordinating with off-site support

  • Using EMR system for patient records

  • Ensuring timely and effective communication

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of clinical experience in psychiatric, mental health, or substance abuse settings

  • Active New York State Licensed Practical Nurse license

  • American Heart Association BLS certification

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and EMR systems

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Problem-solving abilities
